
As industrial parks continue to advance their digital transformation, connecting fragmented information across spaces, facilities and operations has become an increasingly important priority. The goal is not simply to bring data together, but to make it genuinely useful for day-to-day management.
Akila is currently being deployed at NXpark Wuxi. Based on the park’s operational needs, the project will progressively connect existing building systems, facility information and operational processes within a unified digital environment. This will provide more intuitive and consistent information to support facility maintenance and daily operations across the park.
From fragmented information to a unified view of park operations
Industrial parks encompass a wide range of buildings, facilities, equipment and service scenarios, with information often distributed across different systems. This fragmentation can make information more difficult to access and communicate, while limiting the operations team’s ability to develop a complete and consistent view of the park.
At the current stage of the project, Akila is supporting NXpark Wuxi in bringing together and organizing verified information from connected spaces, facilities and systems, gradually establishing a unified data foundation. By accessing relevant information within a single digital environment, the operations team can gain a more centralized understanding of the park’s spaces, facilities and operational conditions. This also creates a foundation for future applications and cross-team collaboration.
Through its digital twin environment, Akila further connects the park’s physical spaces with related facility information, providing authorized users with an intuitive digital entry point. Information that was previously dispersed can be linked to the relevant spaces and facilities, reducing the need for teams to search repeatedly across different documents and systems while providing a clearer view of the park as a whole.
The digital twin represents more than the park’s physical environment. It also makes the connections between spaces, facilities and operational information more visible. By helping teams move from simply seeing the park to better understanding it, this more intuitive information environment provides a clearer foundation for daily operations.
Embedding digital capabilities into daily operations
Building on the unified data foundation and digital twin environment, the project is also advancing the digitalization of facility maintenance, equipment information management and selected park service processes.
By progressively connecting relevant information and workflows, Akila supports the development of clearer operational records and lines of responsibility. This provides a digital foundation for daily activities such as alert tracking, task management, inspections and maintenance. Modules covering work orders, equipment records, cleaning inspections and security inspections are also being configured or deployed.
When an issue requires attention, on-site teams can collaborate using more centralized and consistent information. From task creation and assignment to resolution and documentation, the process can gradually form a clearer closed loop. This helps reduce fragmentation between different information sources while creating a more reliable information foundation for the continuous improvement of park operations.
System connections and functional configurations will be implemented in phases, based on operational needs, technical conditions and on-site validation. This approach helps ensure that the park’s digital development remains aligned with real operational scenarios.
Digital park management is not simply about bringing multiple systems together on a single platform. More importantly, it is about connecting spaces, assets, system information and operational processes, so that information can be understood, used and translated into practical value for daily operations and team collaboration.
The NXpark Wuxi project reflects how Akila puts this approach into practice. By progressively connecting physical spaces, facility information and operational processes, Akila is supporting the park’s transition towards a more connected, visible and information-driven operating model.
